  • What ages do you work with?
I primarily work with adults and adolescents, ages 14+. However, if you are looking for counseling for someone between 11 and 13, please reach out for consultation.
  • How often should I schedule sessions?
In the initial stages of counseling, most clients benefit from attending on a weekly basis. Depending on your specific needs, this can be reduced or increased as needed.
  • Will you take sessions in person?
While I am generally only taking sessions remotely via a telehealth platform or the phone, if you are local to SF Bay Area / the East Bay, I can make arrangements for in-person sessions for an extra fee. Please reach out for details.
  • How can I book my first session?
Send me a message by hitting the "Contact Me" button, emailing me at AaronRohrerLCSW@gmail.com, or call at 415-484-3227
  • Is doing therapy online safe and secure?
Yes! All the therapy that I offer is HIPAA compliant and all your information is encrypted to ensure that our conversations are all completely confidential. Online therapy not only provides secure, confidential treatment, but it also means that you can get all the support you need from the privacy and convenience of your own home.
  • What can I expect in the brief consultation call?
Our first conversation is an opportunity for you to get an idea of what it may be like to work with me, as well as for me to assess if I have the proper skillset to work with you. After brief introductions, I will ask you to tell me briefly what brings you into therapy. If it seems like we can work well together, we will plan our first session.
  • What modalities do you use?
My goal is to provide a secure environment where clients can discover their abilities and individual abilities. My work is based on a humanistic, empowerment, and trauma-sensitive perspective. My techniques are diverse and personalized to my client’s particular needs and objectives, using methods from CBT, ACT, DBT, parts work, mindfulness, harm reduction, and more.
  • Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes - please give at least 24 to 48 hours notice before the session you want to cancel, otherwise a fee of $100 will be charged.
  • How many sessions will I need to attend?
That very much depends on the person and the issues that you are dealing with. Some people only come for 3-4 sessions, while others come for many sessions. It’s up to you and me to decide on an appropriate number of sessions for you. If you are not benefiting from counseling, you can stop at any time. Of course, this is not the goal or expectation. Let’s talk together and expect that you will fully experience improvement before we part ways!
